Simcha Magic: Feel It In The Air!
We had an amazing last day in the Magic Kingdom! Our inspiring staff member Chali donated her hair in front of the whole camp. We watched a play made by the staff kids, and the incredible camp video. We ended the night with a slide show and fireworks.
What a great day it has been so far in Camp Simcha. Everyone is dressed as Minnie or Mickey Mouse, and packing up their bunks. We cannot wait for the annual banquet where we will watch the end of the summer video that our Camp Simcha Media team has been working so hard on.
We cannot believe what an amazing time we’ve had and we are so sad it’s coming to an end. Our last day kicked off with an amazing Minnie Mouse theme giving our camp a true Disney feel. All our workshops are open for us to get the amazing project we’ve been working on and are so excited to bring home. With the ice cream truck and special last day activities we are looking forward to making the most of this last day here at the most magical place on earth!
Our last shabbat in camp simcha was so uplifting and exciting. We were all touched as many campers broke out of their shells and inspired us all with their heroic and moving stories. The campers played bingo and learnt to beat box with our very own DJ Lakay. After Shabbat we enjoyed a dance party and yummy food! What a great end to a week in the Camp Simcha Magic Kingdom.
It’s good to be back in camp! Our amazing trip yesterday to the Palisades Mall and across the Brooklyn Bridge for the March of Hope had us all exhausted last night sending us straight to bed. This morning’s Art of Animation breakfast and creative costumes like SpongeBob, Minions, and Princesses was a magical start to our Friday. Later today we have our highly anticipated annual talent show, where we’ll get to see all the campers unique and unbelievable talents; followed by our pre-Shabbat spa.
What a incredible trip day we had with Camp Simcha. We started off our day at Palisades Center mall and bowled at Lucky Strikes where we enjoyed a yummy pizza lunch. We shopped, got some Starbucks, climbed their ropes course and more. After Palisades Center, we headed over to the Brooklyn Bridge for our Simcha March of Hope. We started off at a park in Brooklyn where we ate dinner and got our balloons for the balloon launch. We walked the bridge with joy and pride, and Half way on the bridge the whole Camp Simcha released their balloons and we watched them fly all over New York. When we finished the bridge we cheered and dance in Manhattan. It was the most amazing day!!
Frontier day was a shooting success. With Frontier Land all around camp,we ended the day with some of the campers put on an amazing and hilarious Snow White performance. You can feel the excitement and anticipation for tomorrows trip to NYC. We can’t wait for another fun filled day in Camp Simcha!
Breakfast at the frontier really brought us back to the wild west. And with the shooting range our practice was put to the test! What a fun morning in the wild wild West!
An action packed super hero afternoon made us feel like we can be anything we want to be. A surprise concert by Gad Elbaz really hit the spot! We ended off the day with awesome field day races, and a bonfire at night with some toasted marshmallows. There couldn’t have been a better ending to a SUPER day.
Superhero day has been nothing shy of super awesome and filled with the usual Camp Simcha surprises. We got to see a juggling, hacky sack, and soccer pro show us his moves at breakfast, have energetic dance parties, and color war breakout today! Soon we will be competing in races and other competitions to see which color will win.
