Happy birthday Camp Simcha…Just kidding, April Fools! For April Fools Day we had Wacky Chad come and entertain us with his acrobatic skills. We enjoyed boating, swimming, metal making and all our other fun specialties. In honor of Shabbat, we had challah baking, and a spa where all the campers got makeovers. Shabbat shalom from Camp Simcha Special, and April fools!

HAHAHA. We cannot stop laughing with all the jokes and pranks going in Camp Simcha Special. If you couldn’t guess, it’s April Fools Day. Everyone is dressed in hilarious costumes like clowns, crazy hats,jokers and more. During breakfast there was a face paint station for all the campers to get their face painted, and Rivky announced that there will be helicopter rides today! We cant wait!

 

At the end of our mock wedding a surprise guest began to sing behind the curtain. MORDECHAI  SHAPIRO came and gave us an awesome concert. After an amazning concert, we had the Xtreme Team come for night activity. They did flips over our campers and shot basketballs into hoops. It was such a fun wedding day…and we all lived happily ever after. 

During lunch we had a special dance performance by Maya, and we had the Sullivan County staff come and take a tour of Camp Simcha. All day we have been getting ready for our mock wedding. We had cupcake decorating, soap making and even had our very own spa where campers got their hair and makeup done. After getting makeovers in the spa, we went to the wedding! The room was set up as a ceremony with flower girls, waiters and more.

Today is the day we’ve all been dreaming of since we were little. It’s wedding day here in Camp Simcha Special. After weeks of planning, we finally get to celebrate today. The dining room is filled with hearts, flower girls, grooms and of course our brides. We had a special breakfast with heart shaped waffles and yummy toppings.

 

You can’t have a Superbowl party without a tailgate dinner. So of course, we for dinner we had a delicious tailgate meal. For our halftime show performance Simon Max came and played Simon says with the whole camp. During our halftime show, there were hilarious Camp Simcha Special commercials shown made by  our campers and staff. It was such a fun “Superbowl Sunday” despite the rainy weather!

Rain rain go away come again another day. Even though it may be raining in camp, it’s got nothing on us having an awesome day. the campers enjoyed indoor activities like zumba, pottery,sweet shop, arts and crafts and more! Touchdown in camp Simcha Special. Everybody was greeted by our  very own football players in the dining room at breakfast. The dining room was disguised as a football stadium and was filled with the noise of cheering fans. We are super excited to see what “Superbowl Sunday” has in store for us today.

Just as we thought the day couldn’t get more exciting, we had a very special camp cake for dessert at dinner, and it was amazing. After dinner, we had a magic show by Miles the Magician, and he had campers come up to volunteer and help him with his illusions. To end off our amazing New Years themed day, we had our very own “ball drop”. Each camper got a balloon and wrote a wish that they had on the balloon.  All the campers let go of their balloons and lit up the sky with all their balloons. It was such an amazing day and we are so excited to see what else is in store for the rest of the summer.

 

 

We can’t wait for another unbelievable session here in camp Simcha Special. We started off our first day with lots of dancing and Music. Each camper arrived, and was surrounded by dancing staff doing the 2018 Simcha Special song and dance. In between all the dancing and singing there was pottery making and swimming. The first day is going great, and we can’t wait for the day to keep getting better!
