It’s a RED-A-RRIFIC morning here at Camp Simcha Special and coming into breakfast, we found that our classic camp dining room had melted away into the chaotic streets of New York City, also known as, The Big Apple. Red day has lured in many creative campers dressed in Elmo’s suites (a common sight on Manhattan’s Broadway, snapping photos with passing tourists), mini mouse bows and even a red striped Waldo shirt topped with a matching hat. Today’s schedule is doled out and it looks very promising…

Going Once…
This evening’s art auction was aglow with dimmed pink lights, dotted with waitresses serving fresh hors d’oeuvres and topped with tiny glasses of champagne, an event definitely befitting our first class tier of campers. Hosted by our very own Aviva and Rivka, the auction began with an abstract watercolor by Naomi. Our hostesses auctioned off just a few of our expertly designed, masterfully crafted creations with Naomi’s starting piece selling at auction for $50! Our top painting, a pastel sunset created jointly by Rachel and Abby sold out for $1500!!! All of our pieces tonight were Camp Simcha Special originals made by our very own girls. Our art gallery was an enormous success tonight and a wonderful way to finish off this year’s Tour de Simcha. Wishing all of our bidders, our dearest hostesses and our famous artists a Camp Simcha Special good night.
“The World’s Greatest Finish Line”
They’re finally here! All 175 of our Tour De Simcha bikers have made it across The World’s Greatest Finish Line! They came flying in amidst a whirlwind of simcha cheers, pounding music and the acknowledgement that they had actually done it! Despite their long travels, these phenomenal women managed to bounce right into the Simcha action, dancing with our girls as we congratulated their achievements. It’s off to the gym for a well deserved award ceremony and stupendous presentation from our campers.
Wishing all of the riders today a gigantic Simcha-sized CONGRATULATIONS!
The Mid-Morning Bustle
We’ve been painting on canvases, sketching with pastels and tracing over silver foil all morning, prepping for our spectacular Camp Simcha Special Art Gallery tonight! We even had a journalist interview every single girl to create a fitting blurb and description for her art display. The Tour De Simcha “greet at the finish line” is scheduled to begin very soon…
Ribbons, Bows and all Things Pink!
And once again, the tutus come out gracing us with tuffs of frilly pink thrills. It’s pink day here at Camp Simcha Special and just in time for this year’s Tour De Simcha bike-a-thon! Our campers will be cheering on our biking supporters who are at this very moment, somewhere along a 72 mile trek to the Camp Simcha Special finish line! We are expecting a giant swarm of riders this afternoon as well as a stampede of “pinkalicious” activities. With face paint applied, tutus adorned and pretty pink everywhere, we are ready to hit this day hard!
And The Winner Is…!
TEAM BLUE!!!
CONGRATULATIONS to our Blue Team! We knew you could do it!
P.S While the Blue Team has claimed the official win, we know that every single one of our girls made this day stupendous with her individual efforts. We would like to thank each and every one of our colorific campers for writing lyrics, painting banners, cheering down the roof and bringing simcha and excitement to this year’s Color War! You truly are the stars of Camp Simcha Special.
Are You at the Edge of Your Seats???
Tallying The Totals…
Right now, at this very suspenseful moment, the judges are calculating the points, tallying the totals and getting tantalizingly close to announcing our Color War winner for Camp Simcha Special Color Craze 2016! While nothing is fixed, we’ve got a tiny glimpse of the figures thus far:
Yellow has had the lead in competitive sports all day but Blue is leading in cheers! Yellow’s banner was pretty hard to beat in design but Blue’s creativity was first class!
For this year’s Color War, both teams had to fill the following requirements: Dinning room decor, a spectacular team cheer and team song and an everlasting banner, something that will stay with Camp Simcha Special forever. Blue presented our judges with a new lunar clock for the dinning room, depicting each stage of the moon’s metamorphosis and renewal throughout the month. Yellow displayed a killer castle for the Arts and Crafts room down by the lake, a huge piece of our Camp campus and desperately in need of its own personalized sign.
And now, for the final scores….
the final, final scores…
Telegram From The Front Lines:
Battles at the baseball field continue with the two oldest divisions competing at water tossing, stealing the bucket and shaving cream twister! Both teams have been snagging points all afternoon and it’s nearly impossible to say for sure who’s truly winning at this point in the games. Both Yellow and Blue are showing a tremendous amount of cheering action thus far and who knows what the final rounds will yield…GO BLUE TEAM! GO YELLOW TEAM!
-This has been Camp Sincha live reporting from the battlefield.
An Update From The Front Lines…
The last time we consulted the scoreboards, the yellow team was ahead by 2 points at relay races on the baseball fields with the final scores at 16 for the Blue Team and 18 for the Yellow. The two sides are dramatically close with plenty of time for the Blue Team to make a sensational comeback! Following competitive sports on the baseball fields, both teams joined arms to dance at a late morning concert with Eitan Freilich! While still caught amidst a hefty battle, our girls took a welcomed intermission from the combat zone and danced it up Simcha Special style! With more team time scheduled for future color-coded preparations, we are looking forward to a final face-off later today at the Color War Grand Finale!
Good Luck to all of our troops, you’re doing an excellent job out there!
