Simcha Magic: Feel It In The Air!
It’s hard to believe that Camp Simcha Special Boys 2018 has come to an end. We wish Efraim Solash our best wishes, as he celebrated his Bar Mitzvah with us today at lunch. We had an incredibly heart warming end to this session as we had “goodbye” speeches and some singing. We then headed down to the lake where we were greeted by the sweet smell of cakes and ice cream. A special colorful fireworks display followed which had the camp in awe. An incredible end to an incredible session…..
Happy Chanukah from Camp Simcha Special! Unfortunately today is our last day at Camp Simcha Special. However, we can’t wait to have an awesome, action packed day. Tonight we will be having a special “goodbye” banquet, YUM!!!
WOW, Its hard to believe that this week has come and gone, as the saying goes: “time flies when you’re having fun.” Friday started of just as any other day but to the campers surprise, we had an incredible special activity in which the campers got a helicopter ride. Thats right, a HELICOPTER RIDE!!! Celebrating our Star Wars theme, we had a “glow in the dark” Jedi party. It was incredible as everyone danced in the dark with colorful tape and lightsabers illuminating the room. Shabbat as always was incredibly special and uplifting. We can’t wait to see what Camp Simcha Special has planned for our last day….
As hundreds of cyclists entered Camp Simcha, they were greeted by happy smiles and loud music. Everyone entered our big tent where our very own DJ Hudacris got Camp Simcha Special and Bike 4 Chai members dancing and singing. The atmosphere was electric as everyone celebrated. Delicious food was served and more dancing continued as everyone enjoyed each others company. To end of a busy day, we sang and ate scrumptious, sweet marshmallows around a fire to celebrate our “Lag b’omer” theme. A tranquil end to a vibrant day…..
Good Morning. Today we preparing for a very busy day at Camp Simcha Special. Today is not only “Lag b’omer” here at Camp simcha but Bike 4 Chai as well!!! Later in the day we anticipating around five hundred cyclists to arrive and we cant wait to show them our incredible Camp Simcha spirit!
In honor of today being “Pesach”, Camp Simcha Special had its own version of the 10 Makot. There was an ice bath, fruit punch pool, lice check, and a lot of shaving cream. Let’s just say things got messy. At dinner we had a wild animal exhibition in which the campers and counselors alike got to touch different wild animals including a snake and tortoise. Uncle Moishe gave Camp Simcha Special an amazing concert in which he had us all singing along to all his classic songs.
Rain, rain go away come back another day! Although Camp Simcha has woken to rain, that has not dampened our spirit. I wonder what interesting Pesach themed activities Camp Simcha has in store for us today?
Today some of Camp Simcha’s campers were privileged to take part in our one day activity in which campers got to paint special canvas bags. For our halftime show performance Steve Max came and played Simon says with the whole camp. During our halftime show, there were hilarious Camp Simcha Special commercials shown made by our campers and staff. As always the day was filled with energy, laughter and smiles all round.
Hut, hut, HIKE!!! Must be Super Bowl Day at Camp Simcha as the dining room has been transformed into a mini football field complete with goal posts, concession stands and tons of football paraphernalia – it looks just like the real thing! 
What an incredible end to a special day a Camp Simcha as the high flying trampoline jumpers from The Sky Divers soared through the air in the gym. Looking back at the day I’m sure all the campers would agree that their highlight would be getting to “pie” their counselors in the face. Great way to celebrate Pi(e) Day, no? The day was filled with incredible activities including: swimming, canvas painting, 3D printing, Krav Maga, pottery and many other activities.
