A ventriloquist came to Camp Simcha! Smiles lit up each camper’s face as they listened to our marvelous ventriloquist, Chuck. His jokes kept us giggling, his enthusiasm kept us cheering, and his dummy kept us laughing. Three lucky campers were called up on stage to take part in Chuck’s hysterical act. Jordan, Shayna, and Miriam brought laughs to all as the ventriloquist pretended to be their voices. It was an enjoyable way to end the extraordinary day!

Food, Food, Food!!!
Food, food, food! Everyone ran to the windows as we heard a very familiar tune…an ice cream truck!!! I scream, you scream, we all scream for ICE CREAM!!! All the campers lined up to choose their favorite flavor. Delicious!
Campers then enjoyed an array of activities including ductigami, arts and crafts, baking, clay animation, pottery, and so much more.
The Food Expo was the highlight of many campers day. All of the ecstatic campers ran from booth to booth decorating gorgeous cupcakes, creating scrumptious sushi, carving crunchy apples, and designing napkin rings and serving pieces. Another strange noise had everyone running to the window again…a saw and a chunk of ice?!?! Ice carving by our very own Camp Simcha chef! Reuven carved a stunning ice swan as we watched fascinated and mesmerized.
What a marvelous day it has been already! Can’t wait to see what Camp Simcha has in store for night activity…!

Cloudy with a Chance of Smiles
Today’s forecast is cloudy with a chance (a very, very big chance) of fun, excitement, joy, and giggles!!! Hamburgers, hot dogs, tacos, sandwiches, ice cream sundaes, tomatoes, carrots, grapes, M&Ms, chocolate bars, and more have fallen from the sky into our very own Camp Simcha! You guessed it…Today’s theme is Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs!!! “It’s peanut butter jelly time…” is the melody we heard as we ate a joyous breakfast together.
Spaghetti hunt!!! We all ran outside with huge smiles on our faces to gather as much spaghetti as we could carry. With our large spaghetti piles in hand, each division ran back to the gym to try to make the longest spaghetti string! The Ninja Turtles won!!! The entire gym exploded in cheers. The delight kept on growing as the campers found out that they won night swim and a movie by the pool!
It makes us hungry to just look around and see all of the food surrounding us…Time for lunch!!!
Slumber Party!
Tonight we all snuggled under warm blankets together as we watched Frozen and enjoyed each others joyous company. At our slumber party there was a full-fledged spa where campers received facials and manicures. To add to the fun, campers were also given sleeping hats and pillow cases to decorate artistically. It’s been a very full and exciting day, good thing we are all in our pajamas and ready to jump into bed!

Bat Mitzvah Celebration!
Celebration is in the air!! Today the whole camp came together to shower our Bat Mitzvah girls with love and blessings! Chaya Sarah, Gal, Maya, Leah, Rivky, Sophia, Meagan, Esti, and Tovi all looked stunning, as they were dressed to the hilt wearing beautiful ball gowns. The entire Social Hall was adorned with frilly pink decorations and the party began! The whole camp made a huge arch and cheered on our AMAZING Bat Mitzvah girls as they ran into the loving arms of their counselors. In Camp Simcha the dancing is always spirited and tons of fun. This time was no different!!!! The happiness on the faces of all of our girls was indescribable, each of them shining forth as the true jewel that they are. Jules our cake decorator made an amazing intricately designed cake especially for the celebration. All the Bat Mitzvah girls made a wish and blew out the candles! Gorgeous chocolate roses were created in honor of our Bat Mitzvah Girls. Each girl was given a stunning necklace as a heartfelt expression of of our overflowing love for them. There was not a dry eye in the crowd as each of our Bat Mitzvah girls spoke. We wish them much joy and happiness on this momentous occasion!!!!
Zzzzzzzzzz…
No one is sleeping in Camp Simcha! After lunch today we were entertained with a hysterical snoring contest!!! The smiling campers clad in their comfy pajamas each sounded their loudest, most realistic snore they could muster over the microphone. Each giggling, snoring camper received a soft, fluffy pillow that will bring them back to the fun, warm memories that were created. Our wonderful camper, Esther, had the award winning snore!!! She jumped over the moon to receive her shining silver pillow! We all had so much fun during the ensuing PILLOW FIGHT!!! Pillows were flying and faces were glowing as everyone enjoyed the lively, playful pillow fight.
Our spirits our high as we move onto the next marvelous activity…
Goodnight CSG?
Goodnight Camp Simcha!?! Getting dressed this morning was easy since we all just stayed in our pajamas. Can anyone guess? Today’s marvelous theme is Goodnight Moon! As you walk into the dining room, you are transported into the pages of the childhood storybook we all know and love. Here in Camp Simcha we take comfort to the next level with pillows and blankets everywhere and campers and staff walking around in fuzzy pajamas.
The munchkins started off their morning with a unique and exciting activity…fencing! Two-by-two, they stood on the mats and learned the art of fencing. Other campers from the youngest division joyously ran to the woodworking shack. There they delightedly smoothed and painted ducks to place on strings to dance around. The ninja turtles were very busy at work in the glass fusion room. Their creativity shown forth as they created stunning presents for mom and dad, for their counselors, and for themselves.

CS Shabbat!
All campers were pampered at our preShabbos spa with manicures, makeup and more. They all left looking beautiful (as always). Their delighted smiles lit up the campus as the sun set below the trees. We were joined by many stunning Shabbat queens at dinner when our campers and counselors alike came adorned in gowns from our expansive CS costume collection. After a long day of exciting activities, the challah and hot chicken soup tasted better than ever! The delicious and filling meal ended with joyous singing and dancing that brought everyone together. After the meal, Rabbi Scholar, the vice president of Chai Lifeline, shared words of encouragement and inspiration.
Shabbat morning the campers and counselors awoke to a lavish breakfast with a large array of scrumptious foods. The divisions broke up into groups for entertaining games. The library, game room, and playgrounds were open for anyone who wished. At lunch, two of our beloved campers shared words of strength and thanks. Ruchie, hailing all the way from Israel, spoke about the unity that permeates the warm atmosphere at CS. Maya thanked the dedicated staff, counselors, and campers of CS for giving her the best two weeks ever!
The fun kept rolling as our talented campers put on a funny and riveting play. Then came bingo with lots of exciting prizes! Then came dinner…yes, that’s right! More awesome food from the amazing chefs at Camp Simcha!!!! To top it all off, we had a huge ice cream sundae buffet with an endless amount of toppings. Campers piled up their vanilla, strawberry, and chocolate ice creams with hot fudge, marshmallows, chocolate chips, and sprinkles as they settled down to enjoy the harmonious shabbat choir. The campers worked hard practicing and it really showed! Shayna, Moria, Miriam, Sarit, and Hodaya were just a few of the soloists who graced us with their gorgeous voices. As the sun set over the lake with its magnificent hues spreading through the sky, Cara shared her dreams of becoming a counselor one day at her beloved Camp Simcha! The entire camp joined arms as they swayed and sang in unity and love.
Tonight, we had rockin’ dancing with an abundance of party style food to end off a fabulous day!
