“The muddier the better” seems to be the rallying cry here at Camp Simcha Special today. We have been seeing it all this afternoon starting with double chocolate brownies, chocolate smoothies only to be topped by chocolate cheeks and faces. It seems we have left no territory unexplored with more muddy derivatives still to come including the new, never seen before on Simcha Special camp grounds- “TOUGH MUDDER!” Our very own mud- infused obstacle course that promises to be the most challenging and dirtiest new feature to Simcha Special this summer! Best of luck to all of our campers who plan to take on Brown day’s “TOUGH MUDDER!”
Day 3: Boot Camp Breakfast
It’s rough tough and muddy out there with brown day off to an army-sized start! The dining room was clad in climbing walls, camouflaged paint and an array of costumes from cookie suits to camels. We’ve had our fair share of leopard prints, Indian and cowboy vests and even a tree! Our girls have gone all out for a muddy, ruddy brown day extravaganza! The schedule looks promising with more grit and grime-filled activities still to come!
Day 2: Blue
We finished off the day with a Simon Says night activity hosted by Steve Max, who is known far and wide as a professional Simon says player. Several of our girls were called up to play challenge rounds and Steve finished off the night with an individual round with each and every camper! This is Camp Simcha Special signing off for the night…
Day 2: Blue
The gym was covered in blue mats, gallons of soap and foam-making machines that can only be described as, well, foam-making machines. Yes, it was a foam-filled ocean mania out there and we wasted no time soaping up with bubble Afros and snow ball spuds. Some of us became sea monsters lost in thick dollops of white, foamy fluff while others danced to the music while trying to side-step the perpetual foam showers and bubble tosses. The afternoon forecast definitely looks promising with more sea world action and bubble-blue chaos to come.
Day 2: Blue
We started off our day underwater with an under-the-sea wonder world for blue day. Our girls were greeted by bubble machines, graceful mermaids and mysterious sea creatures as they ate breakfast this morning. For blue day, our girls have thought of the most original costumes from Superman shirts to Ranger jerseys and Madeline coats. The schedule for today looks busy and very exciting…
Welcome To Camp Simcha Special 2016: Day 1- Arrival
With tutus donned, face-paint applied and the costume closet pillaged, we took off on this very first welcome day of camp with a high dosage of music from DJ Laykay at the front gate, and a mottle of colorful, costume-enthused staff members. They greeted our campers as they made their way into a color-crazed Camp Simcha Special through a stampede of cheers and a tunnel of outstretched arms welcoming each girl to our first kick-off session of the summer!
Day 1: Night Activity
Following an afternoon of “singing in the rain,” our girls learned the new theme song and the accompanying dance for this year’s color-crazed theme. Dancing in the dining room was followed by night activity, where we all gathered in the gym to watch the Skyriders, a trampolining trio, who double swirled and triple flipped while providing fantastic side comedy to officially integrate us into the flying, soaring. triple-hop-jump-and-touch-the-sky rhythm of Camp Simcha Special.

Coby meets Justin
Coby could not figure out why in the world he was going to a hair salon until he saw Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker.
Famous for his rocking hairdo and incredible kicking ability, Justin told Coby to kick #ChildhoodCancer like he kicks footballs.
India Day Comes to a Close
We had banquet where we all sat at short tables on cushions with lamps and jewels as Indian music played. It really felt as if we were eating a meal in India! Afterwards, we thanked everyone for all their hard work and watched the camp video. Then we watched the slideshow and fireworks. Can’t believe the summer is over already! We had a great time! Can’t wait for next year!
