Simcha Magic: Feel It In The Air!
3,2,1 blastoff… Today we made our very own galaxy shirts, experiencing a virtual planetarium, and had some workshops like pottery, candle making,lego mindstorm and more. We rocked the house with Avraham Fried which was an amazing way to end the day. The older division had night swim in the pool, and a few workshops. What a great day in the Camp Simcha Special galaxy.
What an incredible day we’ve had filled with, archery, swimming, boat rides, candle making and activities galore. Lunch included special treats such as candy apples, apple crumble, apple cider, and apple bobbing for us to try out. With all the princesses and dwarves roaming the camp you could really feel the magic of camp simcha in the air. We cannot wait for tomorrow’s Galaxy themed day, it’s going to be out of this world!
Hi Ho it’s off to Simcha Special we go! Today’s Snow White theme is the perfect following to our amazing Shabbat. We got to meet a real life princess like inspiration Lindsay Hilton who inspired us with her athletic journey despite being born without hands and feet. Our gem hunt has sent us out and about camp to see which division can find the most. There is so much more in store for today like archery, soap making, chocomania, ropes courses and we just can’t wait!
Welcome to Simcha Special’s Magic Kingdom! Yesterday’s arrival were unbelievably amazing and seeing our friends again were definitely a highlight. This morning’s Toy Story Mania was the perfect first day kick off. Our gorgeous dining room was decorated in Toy Story theme as our campers roamed disguised as aliens, Woody, Buzz Lightyear, Jessie, and their favorite toys. We cannot wait to see what’s in store!
Our last shabbat in camp simcha was so uplifting and exciting. We were all touched as many campers broke out of their shells and inspired us all with their heroic and moving stories. The campers played bingo and learnt to beat box with our very own DJ Lakay. After Shabbat we enjoyed a dance party and yummy food! What a great end to a week in the Camp Simcha Magic Kingdom.
It’s good to be back in camp! Our amazing trip yesterday to the Palisades Mall and across the Brooklyn Bridge for the March of Hope had us all exhausted last night sending us straight to bed. This morning’s Art of Animation breakfast and creative costumes like SpongeBob, Minions, and Princesses was a magical start to our Friday. Later today we have our highly anticipated annual talent show, where we’ll get to see all the campers unique and unbelievable talents; followed by our pre-Shabbat spa.
Superhero day has been nothing shy of super awesome and filled with the usual Camp Simcha surprises. We got to see a juggling, hacky sack, and soccer pro show us his moves at breakfast, have energetic dance parties, and color war breakout today! Soon we will be competing in races and other competitions to see which color will win.
The only Monday blues we had at camp simcha were the blue foam pits during our Rainbow Foam Run. We raced from station to station wheelchairs and all into huge foam pits for the time of our lives. We all arrived to night activity green, red, and blue from the day to watch the Skyriders, a trampoline duo, perform amazing tricks with snowboards, flips, and more.
For the first time ever in Camp Simcha, today we had our first mini camps. Mini camps are an opportunity for us to chose an activity focus and to master it after the three days. There are unique options like ropes course, music, arts and crafts, graphic design, drama, and tons more. Over the next few days we’ll become professionals while having an awesome time. Today’s lunch was accompanied by the campers squirting the division heads with water during a game and some awesome rain inspired dances.
Today began with a splash at our Splash Mountain breakfast for champions. The dining room was lined with tables filled with any breakfast food you could possibly think of. Outside we had a water slide set up for us to step into our splash mountain costumes of hula girls, fish, swimwear and more. We can’t wait to start our first day of mini camps!
