The Winner of this years Color Crazed Color War 2016 is…!!!
Camp Simcha & Camp Simcha Special
Simcha Magic: Feel It In The Air!
Right now, at this very suspenseful moment, the judges are calculating the points, tallying the totals and getting tantalizingly close to announcing our Color War winner for Camp Simcha Special Color Craze 2016! While nothing is fixed, we’ve got a tiny glimpse of the figures thus far:
Yellow has had the lead in competitive sports all day but Blue is leading in cheers! Yellow’s banner was pretty hard to beat in design but Blue’s creativity was first class!
For this year’s Color War, both teams had to fill the following requirements: Dinning room decor, a spectacular team cheer and team song and an everlasting banner, something that will stay with Camp Simcha Special forever. Blue presented our judges with a new lunar clock for the dinning room, depicting each stage of the moon’s metamorphosis and renewal throughout the month. Yellow displayed a killer castle for the Arts and Crafts room down by the lake, a huge piece of our Camp campus and desperately in need of its own personalized sign.
And now, for the final scores….
the final, final scores…
Battles at the baseball field continue with the two oldest divisions competing at water tossing, stealing the bucket and shaving cream twister! Both teams have been snagging points all afternoon and it’s nearly impossible to say for sure who’s truly winning at this point in the games. Both Yellow and Blue are showing a tremendous amount of cheering action thus far and who knows what the final rounds will yield…GO BLUE TEAM! GO YELLOW TEAM!
-This has been Camp Sincha live reporting from the battlefield.
The last time we consulted the scoreboards, the yellow team was ahead by 2 points at relay races on the baseball fields with the final scores at 16 for the Blue Team and 18 for the Yellow. The two sides are dramatically close with plenty of time for the Blue Team to make a sensational comeback! Following competitive sports on the baseball fields, both teams joined arms to dance at a late morning concert with Eitan Freilich! While still caught amidst a hefty battle, our girls took a welcomed intermission from the combat zone and danced it up Simcha Special style! With more team time scheduled for future color-coded preparations, we are looking forward to a final face-off later today at the Color War Grand Finale!
Good Luck to all of our troops, you’re doing an excellent job out there!
Color War round #1 is off to a phenomenal start! The dining room this morning was bisected into blue’s moon walk and yellow’s sunshine arcade. Our two battling teams lost no time last night cutting out decorations and sticking colorful remnants all over the dining hall. Astronauts and various moons are storming the blue side of the room while pac-mans are buzzing about the yellow side. The tensions are mounting, the suspense climaxing as a Color Crazed Color War begins!
Get the microphones on, the cameras charged and crank the speakers up to highest volume because we are about to have the annual Camp Sincha Special Talent Show! 35 brave and talented souls have signed up to take the stage and floor us with their magnificent skills. First up on the schedule is Soul who will be singing a cover of “Let It Go” followed by the stupendous singing and dancing company composed entirely of bunk A2! We’ve booked Chaya Liba for a gymnastics performance stocked with cartwheels, splits, handstands and back-bends. Rosie will teach us some neat Tae kwon do moves armed with her orange belt, white uniform and a nunchaku chain-stick. Until next time…
Shabbat #1 in Camp Simcha Special was chock-full of bingo games, canteen chills and magic shows. From Friday night ball gowns to the Shabbat play after lunch and post twilight choir, there were no dull moments this weekend. Two campers shared their stories with us on the dining room deck and several choir soloist confirmed the rumor that talent definitely saturates the grounds and members of Simcha Special. The day finished off with a trademarked Simcha Special music bash and bucketloads of dancing. Wishing everyone a goodnight until next time…
It was epic.
It was momentous.
It was “8th DAY” in Camp Simcha Special! Despite the Friday scurrying, the loaded schedule and the bucketload of activities on the agenda, Simcha Special managed to pull off another phenomenal surprise event for our emoji festival. We danced it up, we cheered it on, and in short, we bumped up the yellow-infused happiness levels on every single Simcha face this afternoon! With a promising week up ahead, this is Camp Simcha Special signing off until next time. 😉

There we were, peering down at the long road ahead of us from the top of “Warrior Summit,” a steady rope climb from the ground below. Our fellow soldiers were right behind us beginning their ascents into the muddy madness ahead. We slid down into the “Mud Mounds,” trying to keep our balance amidst a jungle of trenches and hills oozing with freshly wet mud. But we trudged on, eager to prove ourselves to our superior captains and to ourselves. We would beat this “TOUGH MUDDER” no matter what! Pretty soon we came upon a sign that read “Walk the Plank,” warning us of the criss-cross of balance beams that beckoned us onward, daring us to defeat its narrow turns. Some of our troops managed a few beams only to plummet into a pool of muddy chaos after a single false step. We picked up our fellow campers and brushed ourselves off determined to move on. The tire jumps came next and we once again took on the challenge, alternating each foot through a corresponding tire until all of our troops were through. The last obstacle came in the form of a muddy swamp, yes, it was the notorious “Muddy Mayhem!” We slid down a water slide right into its swampy embrace, our clothes caked in layers of grime and dirt, a sweet testimony to our success. We had done it! We had fought hard and completed the legendary “TOUGH M
UDDER!” With our feet heavy with mud and music in our ears, we looked back at the dripping, mucky trail we had left behind, a messy slew of Camp Simcha Troopers on this very brown day.
