Goodbye Simcha 365

August 19, 2018Leave a Comment

Wow, what an amazing way to end off our summer! A big thank you to Avraham Fried for giving us an amazing concert today. We had a delicious banquet dinner with all of our favorite foods. After, we went to the social hall to watch the end of the summer video that our media team worked day and night on. To end off our night, we had an amazing dessert buffet down by the lake where we watched fire works. What an incredible summer it was in Camp Simcha 2018!

Flowers are in the air

The dining room is filled with beautiful flowers and everyone is dressed as flowers, dairy, cows and more. Can you guess what day it is? It’s Shavuot day! Everyone is picking up their finished masterpieces from the workshops, and packing up their bags. We are so sad Camp Simcha is coming to an end.

Happy Pesach

In honor of today being “Pesach”, Camp Simcha Special had its own version of the 10 Makot. There was an ice bath, fruit punch pool, lice check, and a lot of shaving cream. Let’s just say things got messy. Shimi Adar surprised all the campers, and had a dance party with everyone. There was a Shabbat spa where all the campers got their makeup and nails done. Shabbat Shalom and happy Pesach from Camp Simcha.

Camp Simcha X Egypt

August 17, 2018Leave a Comment

It’s Pesach Day in Camp Simcha Special today. The dining room is disguised as a scene from Egypt with pyramids, Egyptians and more. Last night we had our own version of bedikat chametz, where we searched for all the chametz. We have a lot of activities in store for today. Stay Tuned.

Deal Day

August 17, 2018Leave a Comment

Thanksgiving day has been far from boring. Our friends from Deal came to Camp Simcha to hang out with us and give the campers awesome gifts. To add  to the fun we had a surprise concert by Gad Elbaz! For Dinner we had a Thanksgiving feast made by our very own campers. They made pies, turkey, chicken and macaroons with the help of Truffles by Eliana. To end off our awesome day, there was a Simcha VS Deal water fight that got everyone soaked! It was another amazing day in Camp Simcha.

Thank You Thank You Thank You

Today is Hakaras Hatov (Thankful) day. The dining room looks like a Thanksgiving parade with pumpkins, pilgrims and turkeys. It looks amazing. Everyone is dressed as something thanksgiving or thank you related. There are lots of specialty activities today, and we cannot wait to see what surprises are in store.

Happy Purim

Purim day has been off to a great start. For activities there was candle making, boating, painting and more. Gemini, who is a comedian, ventriloquist and magician put on an amazing show for us. For night activity there was a masquerade ball where all the campers got dressed in gowns. There were games, food and a photo booth. Everyone had such a great time!

Camp Simcha Takes NYC

What an incredible day. We started off the day at Victorian Gardens Amusement Park. After, we walked to Central Park for a delicious pizza lunch. The rain might of stopped us form the ferry rides, but it didn’t stop us from having an awesome time. We sang and cheered and showed the whole NYC the spirit Camp Simcha has. After, we drove to Garden State Plaza to spread smiles to everyone who was there. We gave people stickers that said smile and we spread joy throughout the whole mall. To end off the night, we had dinner and a concert by Mordecai Shapiro! It was not only an amazing day, but also an incredible opportunity for us to show the world what a magical place Camp Simcha truly is.

Love is in the Air

Tu’Bav day has been so much fun despite the rainy weather. We had a professional crotcheter come who made a stunning heart with the help of our campers that was put in front of the lake. By dinner the Glen Spay Town Hall came and presented Camp Simcha with an award. For night activity we had Fun n’ Fit come and have a dance party with us.

Happily Ever After

Today is the day we’ve all been dreaming of since we were little. It’s wedding day here in Camp Simcha Special. After weeks of planning, we finally get to celebrate today. The dining room is filled with hearts, flower girls, grooms and of course our brides. The older division had a trip to a shooting range and had an awesome time.
