It is blue day in camp, and that means that Camp Simcha has been transformed into an aquatic paradise. Also this morning, the Israeli division is leading a protest around camp in an attempt to have Hummus added to the breakfat menu. Hopping over to the Hummus Protest in the morning is a great way to get the juices flowing on what promises to be another amazing day. Can’t wait to continue having a #SABABA16.
The Court Jesters
The Court Jesters are here and everyone is having a blast.
The Court Jesters started off by showcasing their incredible basketball skills. Soon after, the jesters and the campers played a fantastic game where some of the campers even dunked.
At Halftime, the campers, counselors, and jesters had a dance party for the ages. It was a great night for #Sababa16 and I can’t wait to see what the camp has in store for tomorrow.
Orange Day Breakfast
Today is Orange Day at Camp Simcha and the basketball themed breakfast bash did not disappoint. #ColorCraze2016 has officially begun.
Such a great breakfast prompted us to bust out some moves on the dance floor #Sababa16 style. The incredible Camp Simcha Band had us all dancing, jumping, and sweating. You just can’t help but smile at the amazing energy that the campers and staff bring everywhere they go. So much fun so far and its not even time for lunch yet. I can’t wait to see what camp has planned for later today.
The Final Day is Here
It is the last day of camp, and things are starting to slow down. Everyone is picking up all of the different crafts and creations that they made during the past two weeks. Candles, canvases, and more and being carried around by everyone. It is so cool to see what everyone was able to come up with. We are all really excited for tonights banquet, and goodbye ceremonies!
Color War!
After an amazing acrobatic night activity, we finally had our Color War breakout. After days of Dembi promising that there was no color war this year, it is finally here. The Red Chanuka Watchers, face off against the Blue Purim Dancers, and the competition is fierce. Just a few hours in, and there are tons of activities going on already. We have sports competitions, talent shows, and other wild ways to decide who the winner of Color War ’16 will be. One thing is for certain, it is going to be the closest color war that we have ever seen.
Gettin’ Dirty
Today we brought the Tough Mudder to Camp Simcha Special. This obstacle course is the dirtiest, and messiest in the mountains. You have to climb over mountains, through tunnels, and dance your way across the plank. But the best part is the mud pit that you get to bathe in at the end of the course. Ahhhh, relaxation.
All About That Bass
Josh and Ilan the beatboxing legends from America’s Got Talent were in camp today! They went through their whole performance from national TV, and did some freestyle stuff as well. A bunch of the campers, and staff members got up on stage as well to show off their skills, and they really rocked the house. We have some serious talent here, and we aren’t afraid to show it.
Up Up and Away!
A Packed Afternoon!
There was so much going on in camp this afternoon that it was impossible to be bored. The video game room was open if you wanted to challenge your friend in any one of the many games that we have. The gym was turned into an old fashioned roller rink where you could skate, or scooter around. Lastly, the annual Dovi vs. Dembi hockey game was ramped up to full throttle this year, as the epic rivals match up for one final time…
Some Nice Clean Fun
This morning we were inspired by White Day to be super clean, so we went to try out the soap making workshop. There’s a lot more to it than we thought. You have to put in all different objects, and designs to make the soap look the way that you want. Then you pick the scent that you want your soap to have, and only after that do you actually add the hot soap. Only a few short hours later you have your very own bar of soap. Pretty cool, huh?
