Simcha Magic: Feel It In The Air!
Special Night Activity tonight as Tamir Goodman came to visit. First, we all piled into the Social Hall to hear all about his incredible story. He was in Sports Illustrated, and went to the Israeli Army too! Then we crossed over to the gym for our very own basketball clinic with Tamir. He taught us about passing, shooting, shot fakes, and rebounds. Then we all headed to the free throw line to put our newly learned skills into practice. Everyone was scoring, it was incredible!
After an exciting morning with Bike4Chai, a bunch of the guys decided to play a quick game of pickup soccer. With the light of the sunset beaming down on the field, this looks like it is going to be an epic matchup…
What a packed afternoon! We started it off with a parade of all the campers who marched with their respective divisions. The bikers rolled in the beginning of the afternoon, and we greeted them Camp Simcha Special style! They came straight into the tent exhausted, and danced with us for over an hour. We presented a special song and dance which we made specifically for this occasion. After working up that big appetite, we all headed over to a gigantic BBQ, and really filled up. Thank you Bike4Chai!
The tent is up, the signs are being made, and everyone is getting pumped for Bike4Chai! The anticipation is building as we wait to welcome thousands of people into our camp, and show them what we do! This is the biggest event of the summer, and we are gonna nail it! See you all later!
We had a few different special neon activities in honor of today’s color. Firstly, we played glow in the dark mini golf, tic-tac-toe, and connect four. Then, later at night, we had a wild dance party. We brought in a bunch of UV lights, which made our neon pop, pumped up the music really loud, and did what we do best, rock out #Sababa16 style.
Did you ever wonder what it was like to throw fire? We found out tonight when a fire juggler came to entertain us. He threw knives, torches, blazing tennis rackets, and just about anything else that he could light into the air.
Exhausted after your morning activities? Looking for something tasty to munch on? Head over to the Camp Canteen, and that should just about solve everything. There are so many different delicious options in the canteen, and you can have them all. Get some candy, popcorn, ice cream, or a slushi, and just hang out for a while and recharge. All this talk is making me hungry, see you later!
We are on the way to becoming a black belt after our karate workshop today. We learnt how to punch, kick, and a bunch of other techniques too. Its quite a work out, but its fun too. And its pretty cool that we get to wear the whole karate get-up as well.
Help! Camp Simcha Special has been sent back to the 80s, and we don’t know how to get out! There is so much neon everywhere! That’s right, its neon day, and the bright colors are everywhere you look. We were feeling creative this morning so we headed over to the newly remodeled candle shop to make something beautiful. There are bunch of different candle types that you can choose from. Then, you dye the candle, and afterwards you carve the most intricate and colorful designs that you can imagine. It’s really quite incredible. The best part, is that at the end of the summer you get to take it home, and use it for whatever you want. Such an awesome way to bring a piece of camp home with you!
Night Activity tonight was a chance for us to try something new. We each got our own bongo, and got to bang away to our hearts desire. We had an instructor guiding us, and teaching us how to pump out the craziest beats possible. Hey, maybe I’ll try out for the Simcha Band next year!
